Summary of your day-to-day?

  • Finance: As an Intern within our Finance department, you will be working closely with our Order to Cash colleagues and serve as the link between back office operations and our customers. Responsibilities will include interacting with customers directly via telephone or email to assist with resolution of queries such as statement requests, account reconciliations and refunds, working with senior team members and stakeholders in the rest of business to resolve incidents on our CRM systems and inclusion in wider projects aimed at improving service levels both to external customers and internal stakeholders. (Must have an advanced national diploma or degree in Finance/Accounting)
  • Sales NCA and Migration: As an intern you will be working closely with our Sales colleagues within Medium or Small Business Segment with quoting & administrative duties, which will include assisting with sales processes such reviewing all opportunities before quoting. Check that correct tax country and branch are specified. Creating of new opportunities on CRM, Email queries to address and respond, Typing of quotations, Follow up with customers to confirm receipt of quotes, Phone customers to confirm appointments, cold calling potential customers, researching their company’s products or services, loading opportunities on various systems.
  • Sales Retention and Renewals – As an intern you will be responsible for managing all aspects of contract renewals for Small or Medium Business segment. As such the key responsibilities will include ensuring customer retention and renewal revenue targets are met and exceeded on annual customers, through solid collaboration across internal lines of business and, externally with customers and Sage Business Partners, via digital communication. You will establish yourself as a trusted advisor and accountable for the identification of growth opportunities in collaboration with business partners and their customer base.
  • Legal: As an Intern within our Legal department, you’ll be working closely with closely with the team and be responsible for tasks such as reviewing contracts, doing research for best practice, assisting in preparing and conducting internal legal training, learning and using internal software tools and staying up to date with internal Sage policies. (Must have an LLB Degree)
  • People Services: As an Intern within our People services department, you’ll be the first point of contact to colleagues and managers for all People transactional inquiries such as People policies, processes and programs where self-service is either unavailable, or where the query cannot be resolved through the self-service channel available. You will assist in maintaining knowledge base – record and document colleague interactions and create and utilize standard processes and or knowledge articles to respond consistently to inquiries. (Must have a HR related Degree/Advanced Diploma)
  • Learning and Development: As an Intern within our L&D department, you’ll be responsible for ongoing maintenance of the Sage LMS and how it servers the business, working closely with the Capability and Learning Partners, to support the design, development and deployment of innovative learning solutions, including the Learning Management System (LMS) take a lead role in promoting, scheduling, enrolling and reporting on learning activity. (Must have a HR related Degree/Advanced Diploma)

Our recruitment process:

Once you apply, you’ll be invited to take part in our screening exercise. This is where you’ll need to make us aware which department you have a preference for, and answer some questions so we can assess your suitability.

Upon completion of the screening exercise, if we feel you meet suitable criteria. We’ll invite you to interview with our hiring team, who will ask you questions all about you, any previous experience, your values and your motivations.

If successful, we will offer you a place ready to join our Intern program on 2nd of October.

Our requirements:

  • A South African citizen with a completed relevant national diploma or degree with a registered and recognised institution (please note some departments do require a specific degree, if we feel your degree does not match the criteria we may be in touch to discuss alternative options).
  • Applicants must be between the ages of 18-35.
  • Available to start work on October 2nd, 2023 for a 12-month period.
  • Not formally / full time employed at the time of application.
